Michael’s All-City Zig Zag (55cm)

All-City’s Zig-Zag is hands our all-time favourite endurance road bike and we couldn’t be happier with how Michael’s build turned out! The group is the tried and true Shimano 105 R7000 series 11sp hydro. Not only is this a high performing groupset, it’s super affordable compared to the Ultegra and Dura-Ace counterparts. Personally, I don’t think you can find a group as reliable and smooth as 105 without breaking the bank. For Michael, 105 is the sweet-spot. Now let's talk wheels! The rims chosen were the Boyd Altamont. Boyd makes high quality, American made rims and wheels but we prefer to order rims and build our wheels in-house. We love Boyd rims because they’re light as heck, build true, and are very strong. These rims are paired with Bitex hubs and are laced up using Sapim Race spokes and nipples. The wheels were mounted with some tires from Teravail, more specifically the Rampart, to provide a fast rolling and comfortable ride. All of these of parts all come together like a Michelin Star dish! The fit components are all Pro, - PLT and Vibe. Being a Shimano Service Center, we love what Pro offers. Pro’s catalog meets all price-points from affordable excellence, to hyper high-end. For Michael’s build we went smack in the middle to keep costs at a dull roar, and to still get some really high-performing gear. The Vibe seatpost is paired with a matching Pro saddle and together they offer all day rideability. Add in the Pro bar and Ciclovation bar tape into the mix and you’ve got a performance build with all the comfort you need for huge distances… This is what sets apart an endurance road bike after all! We finished the bike with a Chris King headset for ultimate performance and flex. The headset along with the White Industries anodized spacers and a set of Shimano XT pedals really kept function and durability a priority, and the style points high. Congrats again Michael!
