Communications Manager- Overview
Job Details
The Communications Manager leads the social media and webstore teams, as well as organizes community
events. The primary purpose of the role is outreach to customers, communicating our brand identity, stock
and service offerings, and any other information pertinent to the shop’s function and participation within the
cycling community. This includes managing social media accounts, the webstore (kissingcrowsoutpost.com)
and the main store website (kissingcrowscyclery.com). Where and when applicable, s/he ensures that
product knowledge is kept current and that staff are regularly trained. The Communications Manager also
helps set and execute marketing and sales strategies, and communicates them effectively.
Qualifications
Education
• Post-secondary education, ideally in a relevant field (marketing, business, administration)
• Any sales or marketing training an asset
Experience
• 3+ years’ experience in retail environments
• 2+ years’ experience working in a specialty retail management role
• 2+ years’ experience in bicycle retail sales
• Strong track record of sales in other positions
Skills
• Ability to motivate and mentor staff in digital sales
• Basic financial literacy and planning capabilities
• Extensive product knowledge regarding bicycles and bicycle goods
• A keen eye for aesthetics and digital layout
• Well-organized
• Excellent inventory management skills
• Ability to train staff on new and existing products, programs, and procedures
• Ability to identify sales trends and provide relevant solutions
• Firm grasp of POS systems

This position starts at $30/hour, and is a full time role at 5 days / week.
